To more emphasize what Smart Manufacturing can do for you: when a company here in Massachusetts consisting of a group of very sharp MIT engineers designed a satellite system, they then spent many months traveling to different major manufacturers and Machine Shops throughout the nation in search of a source to manufacture a group of components within their design... after months of searching they had two big problems on their hands; not only could they not find a manufacturer, but they were quickly running out if time on a very expensive flight to catch as well. Time after time manufactures told them “Those components are not possible to manufacture” After failure upon failure of trying to find a manufacturer all about the nation, someone pointed to a little shop just up the street from them; our little shop Smart Manufacturing, where they were shocked to finally hear the answer they'd been seeking "No problem, when do you need them" One of the MIT Engineer's needed to know for sure if it was truly so, and explained that they were on a very tight time line, and that a scheduled Space Shuttle launch was the reason for the time restriction. He then asked how are you going to make them, and how long will it take? Long story short; they liked the plan, and their parts were delivered 1 week ahead of scheduled... most importantly, they caught their flight.
